For a special Valentine’s Day this year, our Chef Joao Silva and Lumi Rooftop’s Barman Luís Levy have prepared some easy recipes for you to create at home for a special day home. Enjoy!
Timeless romance cocktail
- 50ml – infusion of vodka with Hibiscus
- 25ml– Strawberry pulp
- 25ml – Lime juice
- 25ml – Ginger Ale
- 25ml– Egg whites
- 25ml – Maple Syrup
Place all ingredients together in the shaker, except ginger ale.
Stir until foam is made, add ice and shake once again.
Double strain into cocktail glass.
Fill in the rest with ginger ale.
Garnish with flower.
Sweet potato cake with spices
- Flour- 185g
- Baking powder – 1 teaspoon
- Baking soda- ½ teaspoon
- Cinnamon powder- 2 teaspoons
- Ground cloves- ¼ teaspoon
- Nutmeg powder – 1 tsp
- Sweet potato puree – 255g
- Sugar – 265g
- Olive oil – 180ml
- Salt – 1 teaspoon
- Eggs – 3 large eggs
Preheat the oven at 170ºC. Grease an English cake pan with butter (23x12cm).
Mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, the ground cloves, and nutmeg. Put it aside.
In a mixer, blend the mashed sweet potatoes with the sugar, olive oil and salt. Add one egg at a time, ensuring that it is well mixed with the batter before adding the next.
Add the flour to the sweet potato batter and mix it well.
Place everything in the previously greased pan and bake at 170ºC for about 50 minutes. Check the cake with a toothpick before removing it from the oven.
